Just as Storm Claudia hit the north-west the prior day, the home side blew United away at the their home ground. It was a statement 3-0 victory for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their championship potential as they strengthened their position at the league summit.

Successive Defeats for United

This result signalled back-to-back WSL defeats for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since last May, putting them seven points off the table toppers with their trophy ambitions hanging by a thread.
